American Girl 30th Anniversary Mini Dolls

2016 will mark the 30th anniversary of American Girl (originally Pleasant Company). There have been rumors of possible getting new limited edition mini dolls like the ones for the 25th anniversary, yesterday it seems these rumors were proved true. Taobao yesterday had pictures of some new mini dolls in there special outfits. So far we have seen Julie in her mixed print maxi dress, Samantha in her special dress, Addy in her Sunday dress, Mayellen in a green party dress and Rebecca in her holiday dress.
I'm excited about the new mini dolls but I wonder if they are going to release one a month for the year like they did in 2011. I guess we will find out soon.

What do you think of the new mini dolls?

2014 Holiday Barbie revealed

I was searching for new releases and came across pictures of the 2014 Holiday Barbie and she is gorgeous. I love her red dress with the gold accents and I can't wait to add her to my collection.

New American Girl Items

It's been snowing all night here and with everything closed I finally get a day to catch up with my online shopping. Today was the release of several new items on the American Girl website, and I'm excited to say that we have new Historical items. I think sometimes the historical collection gets overlooked, but Kit, Kaya, Julie and Rebecca all got limited edition outfit set. Addy, Caroline, Rebecca, Kit, and Julie all received hair styling sets as well. I was excited to see something new for Addy and a snood that can be worn with several outfits is a great thing.
I love Julie's new dress, it is very era appropriate. Rebecca's butterfly outfit is my personal favorite and I'm sure this outfit will look great on other dolls as well.
I was slightly disappointed that Josefina didn't receive anything, but maybe later on in the year she will. Marie Grace and Cecile didn't receive new outfits either but they received special edition sets the summer after their release, and the others did not.
Of the My American Girl items I really like the egg decorating set, a favorite tradition of mine growing up, and the new floral swim set. I think the cover up with the swimsuit is really cute. I also like the chair covers for the new table and chair set, and I'm hoping we will get more chair covers to keep adding to the decorating possibilities with this set.
I think the price on the special edition sets is a bit expensive, but they are better priced than the limited edition holiday outfit was.
Also a lot of Isabelle's accessories are already on backorder.
What is your favorite new item from American Girl?

Holiday Edition Dolls

It's that time of year again, when we see all kinds of special edition holiday dolls and accessories. Today on a very quick stop at Target I came across two holiday edition dolls that we have seen versions of over the last few years. The first is the Special 30th Anniversary Holiday Edition Cabbage Patch Kid. I think she is really cute, but I have a soft spot for CPKs. It seems blue is one of the main holiday colors this year across several lines. I do like her dress and her slightly curly long hair.
The second was the Target exclusive Holiday Surprise Barbie. Target usually has store exclusive dolls at the holidays in edition to the yearly Holiday Barbie. I like her dress and she is a cheaper alternative to the more expensive Holiday Barbie, but she is not as elegant looking. These are just a few of the special editions out there and we will be featuring more soon.

Do you have a favorite holiday release this year?

30th Anniversary Cabbage Patch Kids

This year marks the thirtieth birthday of the iconic Cabbage Patch Kids. In honor of this they have created special anniversary edition dolls. Each doll is wearing a party dress with the CPK logo print and has pink streaks in her hair. I haven't seen an anniversary edition boy doll yet, I'm not sure if they are making any, but the girl dolls are cute. Both of the anniversary dolls I saw had the same first name and a different middle name. I'm not sure if this is a trend or not I will have to check more dolls. I think I might add one of these to my collection soon just because I like the streaks.
